This is a parody or something, right? A joke? Because I can't really tell, it's too real.

edit//Okay, good, yeah. Makes sense now.

Yeah, it was a joke to make a point. Hopefully it succeeds...

I'm not making a bigger deal than needs to be made. When a mod can start adding and taking away rules because of personal preference and bias about how he thinks the game should be played there's something seriously wrong. The rules were fine in SHM1, 2, 2.5, 3, OT, WT, and 5. There's no need for all these additions that do nothing but take away player freedom to just play the damn game.

While the rule it is terrible, I could easily live with it. I cannot, however, live with a mod that feels the need to establish rules like that. Thus, I "moan" and "whine."

Then if you're semi-ok with the rule, assuming he doesn't add any more you disagree with, what would be the problem with playing?

You assume that this is the only new rule that's disagreeable.

The problem with playing, as I've stated multiple times now, is that I refuse to participate with a dictatorial moderator who feels that he can change a game based on personal preferences for how the game should be run.

Luckily, ace has displayed a willingness to listen to players which I commend him for, the only thing that I wish would change now is that he would consult us before making rule changes.

Yeah the idea of mods is so four centuries ago. We should just vote on everything we want to happen and divide the power equally. Maybe elect three different branches of power to ensure that we never fall completely under the rule of one person or group again.

I have to sleep so here is my vote. It's completely serious. It will not count I know since the game didn't start yet, but this is 100% serious.

I've never even heard of using codes like this as "breadcrumbing" before, almost all mafia games have a rule against using codes etc. I considered THIS using codes, and was under the assumption that most players don't do it. If everyone is aware of it and OK with it I'll change the rule but in every game I've played I was under the impression stuff like that has been banned... Differing opinions on what is considered codes or not. As long as all players are aware of it I'm fine with it.
The issue is that breadcumbing in that manner is still breadcrumbing. It's not in the spirit of the ban on coded messages, which seeks to prevent daytalk between Mafia/Neighbors.

"Derp, okay chaps..." to breadcrumb doc is nowhere near the same as the mafia setting up say a specific set of words at night so they can communicate in the day. That's what is usually banned, as it creates an unfair advantage and allows for a bypassing of other rules.

I agree with this post, and that's my stance on the rule

Now that the rule has been changed by request, I thought it was supposed to be night, so let's follow the rules and not talk anymore. If you have any other concerns, either send one of us a PM or wait until the day starts (which, I believe, should be soon).

The High Priest, ruler of Syrinx, walked up to the microphone.

"Hello citizens of our beloved Temples. It has recently come to our attention that certain people among us bear ill-intent to our magnificent city. There will be nightly executions that shall be determined by a general vote. Search for these people who wish to defile our gods in your everyday discussion. If you see someone acting suspicious, cast a vote for them. If a person reaches enough votes... they will be disposed of. That is all."

But the citizens of the city had an entirely different plan in mind...

It is now Day 1. Let the games begin.
