|
|
I, regretfully, have not even been paying attention to Guitar Hero DLC. After watching a video from a friend, I remembered that Guitar Hero has some awesome DLC too (too much Rock Band for me :P). So, I have basically no idea of what songs there are as DLC. I have all of the free songs from all games.
I only play Guitar, and I enjoy really hard songs. For example, I would buy this. I would be very appreciative if I could have some suggestions for really fun, hard songs. As long as there isn't a bunch of fast strumming (please don't suggest songs like Ties That Bind), then it's good. Thanks! _________________

Lessee. These are all the Tier 9 DLC Guitar songs for GH WoR.
* = Free
"The Day That Never Comes" - Metallica
"Guitar Battle with Zakk Wylde (Co-Op)" - Zakk Wylde *
"On Broken Glass" - Chimaira *
"Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits Theme" - S.U.P.R.A.H.U.M.A.N. - Protoshredanoid *
"Bloodmeat" - Protest the Hero
"Camel's Night Out" - Eric Johnson
"Dueling Banjos" - Steve Ouimette
"From the Blue/Point of no Return/T.T.R.T.S" - An Endless Sporadic *
"Hangar 18" - Megadeth
"Living Dead Beat" - Children of Bodom
Of course, that's not it for all the hard DLC. Other songs have their insane moments, such as "Black Sunday" by Black Label Society and maybe some others. _________________

February Mega Pack
"Who I Am"
Modern Hits Theme
Dueling Banjos
Guilty Pleasures
Fall of Troy Pack
Phish Pack
I dunno if any of that is hard but it all has pretty fun patterns to hit. _________________

I second toymachine's choices, although Phish pack may be treading into the realm of "too easy noob" (compared to the other packs listed) even though that is my favorite DLC pack to play.
I'll also add Death Magnetic to the list - probably the best value DLC of any music game since it's playable in 5 games. Also, not sure if this counts as DLC, but almost the entirety of the Metallica export is fun on guitar. There's strumming but not to the extent of The Ties That Bind.
If it's WOR tracks you're looking for, I *might* just have an extra Metallica code (yeah, I'm that cool). Message if interested. _________________

No one has mentioned Welcome to My Nightmare or the Slash tracks. WtMN has two difficult to FC organ solos and the trills from hell. The slash tracks all have quirks about them that make them hard to FC. _________________

There's also the James Bond Theme which isn't super difficult but definitely isn't trivial. _________________

The James Bond theme is awesome.
The Fall of Troy track pack is really fun on guitar, but there isn't any GH dlc like the youtube vid you posted. _________________

On Broken Glass was mentioned, but Grave of Opportunity from the same free pack is VERY fun on guitar and bass. Be sure to get that as well. I mean, why not, its free! _________________

The video I linked the OP wasn't for the purpose of "I only want songs this hard," I was just saying that I don't care how hard a song is, I just don't know what DLC is out there and I like really fun Guitar songs.
Again, I have all of the free stuff from all games and all GH3 DLC, so I'm just looking for post-GH3 dlc. Thanks for the suggestions! _________________

Go for the Steely Dan, Phish and Megadeth packs are my personal suggestions. Brilliant fun with their hard moments (Bodhisattva, as you know from RB2 is a bit of a solofest. Down With Disease from the Phish pack is quite hard, and, well, Hangar 18. 'nuff said). _________________

also, I would pick up Afterlife. It's not as hard as its Rock Band counterpart, but it is much more fun

Chalkdust Torture is one of the hardest DLC in WT to FC, it's at least much easier than the FoT pack |

Very true; Chalkdust Torture was actually the last WT DLC song to be FCed, and for good reason.
Also I think most of the good stuff has been suggested already but I haven't seen Let Love Rule mentioned...it is very boring outside of the sax solo but that sax solo is really fun and fairly hard. _________________
