Do they like... hate fans? It's the first superbowl show I've seen where the fans weren't on the field. The lights were cool though, better than seeing fans there.
Great show though, I was hoping for Pinball Wizard and was ecstatic when they opened with it. Cool medley though, probably my favorite half-time show that I've seen in my lifetime. |

That was a pretty cool show. The lights made it all the better. And the medley on it's own wasn't too shabby either. _________________

The lighting effects were really cool.
There were some spots where I thought some instrumental parts needed to be louder (see the keyboard solo in Baba O' Riley)
Pete's playing is as good as ever.
Roger can't hit the high notes he used to, but he did well on the notes he hit. His YEEAAAAAAAAAAAAH on Won't Get Fooled Again was better than I expected it to be.
The song selection was excellent.
Overall, I think that they gave it all they had and did a great job. _________________

I was supremely disappointed that Pete didn't smash his guitar.
The rest of the performance was good, though. _________________

I dunno, I'm with the folk who thought it kind of sucked. Daltry is getting rather old. I couldn't help but cringe at parts. |

Based on the version released in Rock Band, that's exactly my opinion. Maaaaybe about time for Roger Daltrey to call it a day now.
They should've got rid of Zak for the night and got his dad in to do it... he's in America for the Hollywood Walk Of Fame thing today anyway. _________________

I saw them 2 years ago and Daltrey sounded a lot better then. Maybe he is just pushing his limit. I still thought it was ok though.

This is the inherent problem with the Who these days...they've totally lost what they used to be. From their image right down to their music, the Who has always been about youth rebellion, about being fucking crazy and not caring what anyone thinks. The problem with that image is you can't keep it up, so obviously these guys aren't what they used to be.
Seeing a wrinkled Roger on stage struggling to hit the notes he once did makes me cringe - I understand that these guys just want to keep rocking like they used to but I think at this point the Who needs to hang it up. Honestly, they haven't been relevant since Keith Moon died, and it's painful to watch.
This is coming from a huge Who fan, so don't think it's easy for me to admit. _________________

I was waiting for the scream in Won't Get Fooled Again, and just when it's about to happen, they went to a SUPER long/wide shot of the stage, and you could just tell that he didn't actually do it. Aww.
Also, lol at Townshend's shirt opening at the bottom and showing his gut for the entire performance.
I liked it though, as far as The Who performances in the last decade go, it was pretty good. Better than the VH1 Rock Honours performance in my opinion. _________________
