So does this mean that the online servers will soon be shut down too? |

Pretty sure the only thing that's close to CoD's popularity is Halo. _________________

Well, maybe they can at the very least keep SH going by doing shooter scoretracking (which would probably be a bad idea, but who knows). _________________

We just need Activision to still throw 'Hero' into the title.
Call of Duty: Rise of the HERO.

R.I.P. Guitar Hero (November 8, 2005 - February 9, 2011)
I cannot thank you enough. You have done so many things for me. But it's time to let an old, tired friend go. We will all miss you.
There was always something magical about your setlist reveals, the way the rumored songs got us all pumped up and gave us something to look forward to. I remember when the drums were introduced which caused quite a stir, people arguing what the series was turning into.
2009 was your most controversial year, for all the right and wrong reasons. Metallica was excellent, Smash Hits was great, 5 was pretty good and I cannot say anything about Van Halen yet.
In 2010, you grew old really fast. We were starting to see you fall down. We speculated if you'd make it another year. Then Warriors of Rock came out and boy, you did not let us down. That final product was a masterpiece, probably what we have actually been waiting for all these years.
So far in 2011, things don't look to bright. DLC every two weeks is a bad sight. They finally pulled the plug.
With that being said, you will never be forgotten amongst the crowd of fans who eagerly awaited your arrival each year. Although your quality may not have been the greatest since WT, some of us loved you deep down inside more than anything.
Thank you and godspeed!

As I said elsewhere: the last of the series that I really enjoyed was GH3 and I completely gave up on any shred of hope during the development of GH6, but it'll still be a real shame to see it go. That said... it's probably time.
Also, do you really think Scorehero will die with the series? Pffft. As far as the community and archive value goes, this site won't stop being relevant for many, many years to come. _________________

Just got the Q4 slides, and somehow, they managed to do some 14 pages long schematic report without using the word "Hero" even once. We just have some :
"No new music or skateboarding releases in 2011."
They don't even call Tony Hawk games by their franchise name. Pretty depressing.
