This is my first post here, so I thought I'd make it a doozie. Pretty much everybody knows about this song and for those who have it and have passed it... I'd like to know how in the hell you manage the solo!
Note that I'm not just asking for advice saying "Just use star power as much as possible until you're through it." I'm actually asking for help on mastering the solo itself. I'm sure there's at least a couple of people here who have done it. If you can, I'd really appreciate the help on this. I'm used to just about every technique you can use in this (HO/PO/Up and down strumming), so I'm willing to try anything. _________________

trippolettehero claims to have the top %, but I beat his score. Don't know what happened to him.
Really though, I don't know what I can say to make it easier, because it's a freaking hard solo. Even I don't get much more than the first 3 measures, and it's still luck for me to maintain a combo during that, the easiest part. |

Alternate strum quickly, attempt to hit the proper notes with your fret hand and pray.
Obviously using a full bar of star power as late as possible (right before you fail) gives you the best shot of getting through it. _________________

Ugh, don't watch the American version, it's a disgrace.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I already know about how to survive the song, but I'm really trying to get this down patch, which I'm not expecting to be able to do anytime soon, even if it takes me years. X_X _________________

I don't have a great score, but I did manage to 4 star it. During the solo, I waited until I absolutely HAD to use Star Power to use it... and I just made sure I didn't play the triplets too fast. If you play them too fast, you'll get way off beat and start strumming dead space which will fail you out faster than anything. They aren't nearly as fast as the triplets in Ziggy Stardust or Take it Off. _________________

Yes, I used to have that problem in the beginning until I just took a second to examine what I was doing. Times like this, I wish they had a better training mode where you could slow down the song to practice it better. Oh well, at least they're putting that in GH2. _________________

Heh, so that's how you did it in that video, eh? Alright, I'll give it a shot. _________________
