GH3: wii, or ps2?

that's all i'm asking? since i already have my guitars and shit for playstation 2?

will the wii version be worth buying the game and two guitars? does anybody think they know?

Personally I fail to see how the Wii version will be any better than the PS2 version. The graphics should be pretty similar if that's of any concern. Possible DLC and online play for the Wii but I don't know how (or even if) that malarkey works so I can't really comment.

All I can really say is that it'll be cheaper to get the PS2 version and you won't have to worry about doing strange things like waving the annoying gimmick remote control around your head three times on a piece of string to activate star power...

Ahem. All joking aside, I'd go with the PS2 if you've already got the gear, simply for financial reasons.

Another thing, how much do you care about downloads or online play? If you don't plan on buying stuff or using online features, just stick with the PS2 version.

yeah, i'm trying to put the possible downloadable and bonus content into consideration, since ps2 isn't going to have any. it's already hard for me to decide, and the game doesn't come out for like a month and a half.

I'm saving up for 2 wii controllers and getting the game from my parents

and then i'm going to buy 2 new controllers for ps2 because my old sg is breaking lol. so any way, wii would be my choice because i don't have a 360 or ps3. and also, do you have a guide on how to become a shredder pro ect.?

its actually based on how many posts you have. and on topic... I am having the same question. I think I might go with the wii because of the possibility of DLC and online play. although I'm not looking forward to shelling out the extra money

If you think the track list is pretty awesome already, get the PS2 version. There's little chance that the Wii version will have online functionality, and there wont be a great deal of DLC that could buy anyways. At least not enough to justify the purchase. PS2 is the best option for you it seems.

I'm in the same situation, but I'm going to get it for Wii for the new guitar, future expandability (GH4 will be on Wii, not so sure about PS2), and possibility of online battle/DLC (if Nintendo gets their shit together).

Either get it on the PS2 or do the SMART thing and get it on 360. The Wii is a crappy gimmick console and will totally kill GH3 on it.

For ps2, yes. For ps3. Hell's naw! 360 is the way to go.

IGN has a first hands-on report of the Wii version.

The Wii version uses the Wii controllers rumble and internal speaker. And the report pretty much confirms online play too.

Personally I'm definitely going for the Wii version, even though I already have the PS2 version and 2 guitar controllers. The Wii extra's are just too good (online, rumble and speaker) and the new guitar controller/shell should play better than the old SG controller too.
