I got 6th using a slightly modified version of Priest's Expert path.
I wont give away my exact activation points, but if you follow what he does on that video you will probably be pretty close. It got me just around 2000 points below the leader, so there are surely more improvements on my path. _________________

His path on expert is quite a bit different from the best path on easy. That's why you're coming up short that many points. |

The best i could come up with is 2-1-1-2-2-2
2 - Next note
1 - Measure 3 (GR Chords)
1 - Measure 67
2 - Measure 106 (Halfway through it)
2 - Measure 127
2 - Measure 170
Any ideas? I got almost 180k _________________

Ok, uh, I don't think the 2-1-1-2-2-2 path works. On the 3rd activation, after 10 replays, and increasing amounts of whammying each time, I am still just a little below the half way point on my SP gauge. So unless there is a trick to whammy that hard, or special Guitar Hero steroids I am unaware of (kidding, of course), I don't think it's possible.... _________________

There's exactly enough whammy to get sp from that phrase, but that's not the best path anyway, so don't worry about it. |

The trick to getting the full amount out of holds like that is to hit the note a little early and whammy immediately. It takes some practice to learn how early you can hit it, but you'll get it _________________

Are my activation points off or is the SP combo wrong all together? _________________

The first 3 are completely wrong, well 4, but they should be made into 3. |

From what I've tried, the 3-2-1-2-2 path is correct. I've found some pretty good activation points as well.
3-On the third phrase, whammy the green hold until the meter is completely full.
2-Whammy both phrases as much as possible, then use the SP instantly.
1-If you only whammy the yellow hold, it will not be enough. There is a slightly long red hold about three notes before the long yellow hold. Whammy the red hold on top of the yellow hold in order to fill the meter up enough to use the SP. It should be used on the note after the two yellow holds to hit all 12 yellow notes with the SP.
2-Whammy both as much as possible, then use it on the next note.
2-Whammy both completely, then use instantly.
This was good enough for 177,998 points and 28th place. I doubt it's perfect, but its close. |
