Damn that was hard to do
The path is simple: get 3 SP's, then activate the next time 'TROGDOR!!' comes around. Then get the last two, and activate on the next note.

The tricky part is squeezing that last note out; it's an extra note in the first activation, and it's right at the very border of the squeeze zone. Took me a long time to get it....

So... This must mean there's still 12 points left. Mr. Green

Since the previous best was 97655, then at least that much is left, yes. But there's no way I'm trying that again for those last 12 points!!

i dont think those 12 points exist, i just tied your score on a beautiful run, may be optimal

[Edit] beat it by 4 points *maniacal laugh*

They do. I just got them. It was roughly the same situation with easy. 60,644 looked like it might be optimal, but I managed to get 60,656. Someone somehow got or at least claims to have gotten 60,657, though.

Very nice. We really need to stop throwing around the term optimal so much when there are hold tick squeezes involved. I may try to tie you later, but I'm fine with 2nd on that.

Also, not to single you out Beauregard, but I'd like it if newspaper screens would stop being posted in the Song FAQ forums. That's what we have the 5-star/Achievements forum for. Otherwise, it adds unnecessary filler to the pages...the only images here should be strictly star power strategy-related.

(This isn't about the song, but I think everyone who cares will read it.)

I definitely agree with this; there's been three "optimal" scores on Trogdor in the last two weeks, there's a "perhaps optimal" score on Yes We Can somewhere around 40th place, and probably 95% of all other "optimals" simply aren't that.

Besides, I hate all of you hold tick & whammying masters. o)

well here is the optimal path, i guarantee that it is, because hitting the squeeze gets every sustain point in on it, the only real hard trick is holding the whammy sustains, and switching fast enough, to get enough SP to pull off the squeeze. while in SP on my run i noticed i was 4 points less than when the the full sustains are accomplished, and on a run where i missed the squeeze i had 97667.

I ended up tying you now by using the old way and activating right away on the 2nd activation, but that one little tick is still left. I tried getting that new squeeze in for those extra 4 points for a very long time, but I always screwed up something. I did manage to get the squeeze three times, but those were all on throwaway runs where I had screwed up the first squeeze or missed a note. That is one of the hardest squeezes I've tried pulling off and definitely the least rewarding. I'll go for it again another day.

Oh, and the final sp extends out 2 more measures to the first green in measure 37.

That's the first time I've seen this program actually give the exact optimal score on a song. It did have better paths for a couple songs, though, which I missed before.
