I am having serious issues now with the YBY triplet in the pre-chorus. I alternate strum but keep seeming to over-strum and kill my combo.
I have up until the BOBYRG in the solo down....hope i can improve and break 200k soon. _________________

Try doing a hammer-on with the YBY. One of the only places I use them and I think even ES said this is the only place he uses hammer ons. _________________

This isn't meant as a nitpick but it isn't a triplet, it's three 16th notes. If you try to play it as a triplet, you will strum out of time. Hope that helps. _________________

I hate this song..
I need to work on not making stupid mistakes. I just got 136k. =[ Trying to 5 star all the songs in order, and this is holding me up worse than Sharp Dressed Man was. >_>
Damnit! Is there any way to turn off HO/PO? The yby keeps messing me up because it thinks I'm doing a HO and counts that as the note, but I strum and it kills my combo. =[

The hardest part outside the solo is that fast YBY bit, scan some of the posts in here for tips on them, (don't worry about the solo, I hit less notes in that than I do in CfH's solo, and I 5* this no problem)
edit: just don't strum that bit and you'll keep your combo |

FFS, finally! Beat the min 5* by almost 2k. Had to use 1/2 bar SP during the freaking solo. Ugh, I'm glad to finally be done with this song.
For now, anyways. -_- |

The way I dealt with the YBY part was that I kept my middle finger on Yellow the whole time and tapped the Blue note quickly when it came up. I also single strummed the three notes. |

Sorry, didn't mean to mis-use the term. I get trips of 16th notes confused. It's sad cuz i've had a year of guitar lessons and gone over these terms, and still get them confused.
I tried ho/po's on the YBY... no dice. So I'm going to alt strum it and see what happens. I'm hoping to at least get past the 300s with this song. It's hurting my overall score so badly. The next worse song of mine is like 150th and this is 334th... dammit. _________________

It's actually pretty easy. A triplet is 3 notes played together with 2/3 of their normal time duration, or looked at another way, 3 notes played in the span that 2 would normally be played in or in the span of the next longest type note. So for example, sixteenth triplets are 3 notes played in the span of 2 sixteenth notes, or 1 eighth note. eighth note triplets are 3 notes played in the span of 2 eighth notes, or 1 quarter note, etc...
There are probably exceptions to this in certain cases, but that's the general gist of it.

Best I've done was FC the first half of the solo.
I always screw it up after the blue star note. |

For all those that have trouble with the YBY part in the pre-chorus, try strumming the Yellow, HO the Blue then release and strum the yellow again. This is the most efficient way I found for myself and I never mess it up. I am simply no good with Ho/Po's in this game though. Strange, as I've played guitar for over 9years.. I think it's the big buttons :P |

Well, I could try HO/PO-ing that like I do with SoD before the chorus, but it's all so hectic and there are notes immediately after that part without any kind of pause. ;_;
*Hangs himself on the guitar-cord and pierces his chest with the neck.*

I don't get it, I am 100%ing everything except the solo and I keep getting well below 200k... are people really getting that much of the solo? If so, that's rediculous.wow.... _________________

Yes, people are getting that much of the solo. The solo isn't *really* that hard, just very fast. Honestly the hardest part of the solo to me is the OBYs at the end of it. _________________
