Click the giant blue word "HERE" in the post above you.
Basically, it means don't whammy fully. _________________

I realize that this is a old thread, but I'm trying to improve my score on this song, and I thought it was the most appropriate place to discuss my question.
Anyway, on the first star power, I only get the right amout of whammy 1/10 times, and since the first activation has to be perfect, I was wondering if I could simplify it a little bit. Basically, what I tried was not whammying the SP at all, and activating with 2 SP's as in the optimal path. The only difference, of course is hitting the note after the last SP note of the second SP phrase verrrrrryyyy late, and then hitting the last note before the next SP verrrrrrrrryyyyy early. I tried it, and it seemed to work, but I'm new to squeezing, and I didn't know if I was still getting all the notes under SP.
Basically, my question is if just a half bar of SP would get me from the note after the second SP to the note before the next SP, if I abused the timing window enough. Anyone know? _________________

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aqWAtvc8x4&fmt=18 Check out the first activation.
To be honest, the whammy doesn't even have to be close to perfect. What you want to do is don't whammy the beginning of the sustain, just the last 1/4 of it and then squeeze the next note. It's hard to stop whammying in the middle of a sustain in GH2 because even after you stop whammying you'll still get a little more. If you wait until the end of the of sustain, you won't have to stop in the middle of the whammy, which I find much more difficult. If you get a little more whammy then you'd like, just activate earlier than you normally would. And squeeze more if you don't get as much whammy as you'd like. _________________

Thanks! That's a handy little trick, I'll definitley try it out and see if I can improve my score. I can hardly ever do real runs since I almost never nail the first activation, and I'll either lose 400-600 points from the activation ending too soon or override the next SP if I whammy too much, so I really appreciate the help! _________________

Umm, that would make it a triple squeeze . Are you sure you hit it without whammying? _________________

..are you serious because i KNOW i hit the last note of the phrase( the single yellow) becuase i strummed a gallop for the ...i might have not hit the chord under sp though, does that still count? it really doesnt seem that hard (if I could do it haha) _________________

Just to be clear, you're talking about the first activation right? Because based on your most recent post you might be talking about something else.
http://www.slowhero.com/gh2-x360/expert/badreputation.lazy-whammy.best.png
If you didn't whammy the first phrase, then a normal squeeze would go from the R sustain (NN) to the G exactly four measures later. By hitting the second G, it would be a double squeeze, and then the R after that would make it a triple squeeze. Is that right or are we talking about different things? _________________
