alright just finished my 35th try at this song and still failed at like 80%. so i think im done with GH cuz sure as hell practice doesn't do anything for me. i can't get any solo's.

I think your problem is sp usage, pammer. I die occasionally because of the second hard part of the solo, and I can smell that fucking 5*. If you have at least a half bar of sp for the second, you should be ok. And, seeing as you can't beat the song, you probably are having trouble with the first hard part of the solo. You should try to only have a half bar of sp so you can survive, but it'll run out to give you a chance to recharge, I think you get 3 sp phrases where you would get 2 otherwise. Oh, if you can't get the riff between solos that usually has a star power, then you should definitely practice that, I know there's a few in the end of solo 6.

LOL i thing this song is heck of an easy song!! i actually jstu got down stairs from playing it at 5*ed it without even trying. i deffently recoment for the people who have trouble playing this song go to the training and practice the solos. thats how i mastered this song. it helps alot.

Solo 7! kills me-I have to use SP to pass it (i did pass it without it once). How do you do you hit all those notes-they come so fast!

iight bro. ok i hate this song but go to less talk more rock and practice that till you master it and it will help your fingers move alot fasters so when those notes that give you trouble come you will get em. i also recomment useing hammer-ons and pull-offs. if you havent mastered those ether then practice them on the free bird solo.

i just played it three times, 285k, 282k, then 285k again. However, it's made less frustrating by the fact that i still have PF and FB to go before i get that log =(

This song is pretty darn difficult, the solos are just overly constant and wont let up, Star power is a must in this song, if u dont nail more that 90% of hte star power, ur almost guaranteed to fail the song, no doubt.

hey,i was in section too a couple of days ago it really angered me.So maybe this would help i kept on playing that song in career mode this is very small advice but it can help.I learned to put my thumb behind the guitar on the neck it helped a little i could put my small finger on to the orange button.i really never practiced it in practice mode good luck

I have been playing Hanger 18 since i couldn't beat it, to wear i got 240kish-4 stars. i got 274k once and thought that the 5 star req. was 275k, so i was way pissed, but one night i got 284. i got 4 stars again and thought it might be 285k, so i played it one more time and got 286k. STILL 4 stars! i finally found out that i was only 2k away from 5 stars and now, every time i play it i get like 270k-275k.
i got pretty good, fast, because i played so much when i first got GH, but now i've played so much i think my left hand is completely crapped up. i cant play as well as i used to, and my hand gets cramped now when i play more than like 4-6 hard songs (like if i play hanger 18 a couple times, my hand cramps and i get worse scores)
i think the 286k is as close as im getting
