So the whammying speed doesn't matter at all? I really didn't know that....maybe that searing pain in my shoulder will finally go away after all... _________________

Nope, just the timing really. This one's not so bad, but trying to whammy out a full bar at the beginning of Infected is a real bitch. _________________

Yep, you just need to start whammying the instant you play the note ... that's what this one's all about. _________________

Yeah, I figured that out the hard way. I was wailing on the whammy bar once to get the bar I needed. I let my friend play it and he casually hits it and accomplishes the same thing.
Needless to say, I was mad. Because my hand hurt. _________________

And you can't strum the note late. In this case you're not required to hit it early (like the beginning of Infected), but if you hit it late it will be less than 7.5 beats. _________________

On Easy, yes.
On Medium, maybe.
Hard/Expert (which have the same timing window), we doubt it. |

Why is it impossible on Hard and Expert but not on Easy and Medium? _________________

Because the allowable timing window for hitting notes is smaller on Hard/Expert so you can't hit the note as early as you can in Medium or Easy.
And in order to make the hold last 7.5 beats (required to gain 1/2 meter of SP) you need to hit it pretty damn early (possibly outside of the timing window for Hard/Expert, but within the window on Easy/Medium). _________________

Ah...I see now.
Thanks. That struck me as a little odd that you were able to get something in Easy and Medium but not Hard and Expert. _________________

JHetfield, have you been able to get this SP hold consistently? I have the same problem you have (or had), and I've been practicing this song for at least an hour and still haven't gotten the hold SP yet. I usually alternate strum but I'm trying to downstrum with the whammy bar in my hand so that I can whammy the instant I am hitting it. I'm also hitting the note before it crosses at the bottom. Why am I still not getting this? I've tried whammying fast and slow. _________________

try to hit the note after the sustain a little late until you are positive that you have star power. |
