Ok, this could count as a semi spam post, I wanna get up to post 100 :P
But onto topic. I was considering last night during work (I work nightshift) that I should consider getting me a DS. My mate came to visit last week and he had one, his girlfriend had one too, with Nintendogs. I gave it a quick shot, and I thought it was amazing, with the petting the dog and the frisbee throwing and whatnot. So Ive thought about getting one. I may get one in a couple weeks when I get my next payment from work, but I was thinking on what game I should get with it.
I was thinking Mario Kart, as ive been a fan for ever, and I like the sound of the way you have to blow into the mic to blow the balloon back up.
If anyone has one, and can recommend some good games, it will help a lot.
Bear in mind, im in the UK, so we may not have the game out here yet, or at all knowing what were like

Not sure about your opinions, but here's what I have:
Tetris DS: an obvious classic.
Advance Wars DS: good for a strategy freak.
Meteos: another good puzzle game.
Kirby-Canvas Curse: a fun game, but very easy.
Castlevania DS: a good action RPG type game.
Super Princess Peach: good platformer, but too easy and too short.
Mario & Luigi-Partners in Time: good RPG, but no sidequests.
WARNING: Do not get the following game if you are easily frustrated to the point of throwing your new DS through the wall!!!!!
Trauma Center-Under the Knife: runs on a gimmick, but very fun. Had it since it came out, still haven't beat it. |

I would honestly suggest getting Trauma Center. I've been stuck many times in that game, but when I beat that level I felt like I had conquered the world.
Other games I have to suggest:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (great in-game dialogue, catchy visuals, a tad on the short side, but incredibly fun nonetheless.)
Sonic Rush (Pretty much one of the best platformers you can buy for the DS. It's short, but hey. So is every Sonic game. I still have yet to beat the game 100%) _________________

I'm afraid not. I've been having some serious trouble with the GUILT you have to get rid of when you get back from Africa. It's not that I can't do it; it's just I need about another 20 seconds to be able to do it.
It's still a fun game though. I'm letting my girlfriend borrow it right now and she's in love with it. _________________

I work nights as well, and if it wasn't for my laptop and my DS (and before that, my GBA), I'd have long gone insane. Trauma Center is beat-your-skull-in hard, but it's one of those games where you quickly forget your migraine once you get to the next level. Advance Wars and Mario Kart kick ass as well... not to mention all the goodness you get from the GBA port at the bottom. _________________

New Super Mario Bros - No explanation needed. Mario platformers rock.
Lost Magic - A mix between RTS and RPG, lots of fun. Hard too.
Metroid Prime Hunters - The PERFECT fps.
Mario& Luigi Partners in Time - Awsome RPG _________________

Last time I played Hunters it kinda sucked...
Has it improved at all since the demo? _________________

Well, that was interesting. I played through Trauma Center and finally got past the mission I couldn't pass.
And promptly failed at the next one.

I've been playing New Super Mario Bros. lately and it is simply amazing. Best game on the DS so far. I'm hoping the new Zelda (Phantom Hourglass) will top it. I've already got it pre-ordered. _________________

I'm kind of on the fence about that one... while I'm not opposed to new or innovative control schemes (I own a DS and have plans on getting a Wii), everything I've read seems to point to Nintendo shoehorning a touch interface into a game/series that was perfectly fine with a pad/stick and buttons. I will reserve judgment until I actually play it though... until then I'll just be, um... pessimistically curious? _________________
