ES, you want to take up this one? I'll just make sure to have the insane asylum on hold for when those songs drive you nuts. |

I'd be surprised if anyone, anywhere has a full combo on BATM expert.
Even more surprised if anyone has CotC expert. _________________

CotC isn't as hard as BatM's 2 measures of hell, or the endurance run at the end. It has more spots to screw up, but those parts are easier than BatM.
I think I'll FC CotC before BatM. |

You think so? The fast parts in CotC near the beginning just seem to make no sense visually to me. _________________

in cotc in the beginning, every single note is a sixteenth note. i felt pretty stupid after figuring that out myself. i dont think that there are any hard rhythms in that song at all, the are all just fast. as a tip, hold down green the whole time, until you have to shift your hands.
as for batm, i just got a top score run, and i dont think that i will FC that anytime soon, due to the ending of the first solo.
cbfh is really random for me. im getting every single one of thos YBYRRYBYRR combos, but im always missing the red note in the GRYB run. but other than that, and the solo, i can FC. _________________

that helped me, thanks. there was one flaw that i found, though. in the long sp notes GR when you activate sp during whammying, you should activate a little later in order to get the RY chord at the end of the phrase, if that made any sense. _________________

Yeah, there's about 2000 points of mistakes or mistimings in my video that you could correct. I'm aware of them, but I don't feel like trying to replay it _________________

I don't really mean the beginning of cotc. In the chart, I mean the 8th line down. I just can't get that part to make the least bit of sense to me. _________________

A little more detail than ES supplied:
In the first strain of the first solo, look at the frets that aren't G. They are perfect 8th notes. Add in the Gs, and there are 16th notes. Here's what you do.
Strain 1:
Hold down G.
Tap (and immediately release) the other frets when they come up.
Strum 16th notes.
Strain 2:
Hold down R.
Tap the other frets when they come up.
Strum 16th notes.
Nice and easy, as long as you stay in time. |

As in, you are trying to look at the note chart, but you can't reach it?
Just go to the Expert Song FAQ topics and go to CotC to see the note chart. You are aware that JCirri added note charts to the Song FAQs, right?
Anyway... I'll try to explain this starting from the green notes, since I'm assuming that that is where you are stuck. I can't really say much for reading the right frets and positioning your fingers, but I'll try to give you the right timing.
Each letter or comma equals one 16th space.
GGR,YYORBRBRYRYRGRY,YYORBRGRBRYRG,B,BBOYOYBRYRBYR,B
I'm sorry if this isn't perfect. I believe that the rhythms are all correct, but it can be hard to explain rhythms without sound. Once you know where to insert the rests, it gets a little easier. |

Oh. I guess I wouldn't know because I don't have a camera.
It just occurred to me that we used to have one, but apparantly my brother took it when he left the house. |
