A full band list has already been revealed, horah! Now I shall continue updating this thread everytime new info comes, but with recent computer problems, I may not be able to do it asap. E3 has passed, and we have most info on this game, so what's next? The setlist revealed bits by bits along other things. In the meantime, discuss what info we have.
Just one kind favor to you I ask; Read this full post before posting, or asking a question (I.E. 'WILL MY DLC WORK WIT DIS?') And please, follow this rule, along with all other SH Rules:
NO WISHLISTING OR SPECULATING VIA WIKIPEDIA; I DO NOT WANT THIS THREAD LOCKED. WIKIPEDIA IS NOT A GOOD SOURCE FOR LEAKS AND GET YOUR HOPES UP HIGH IN YOUR HEAD.
AND NO RUMOR SETLIST DISCUSSING WAIT UNTIL WE AT LEAST HAVE A DECENT AMMOUNT OF INFO (Most of the setlist - Per say?) AND RULES IT HAS TO FOLLOW (50% Modern, for example) BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT POSTING.
AND FOLLOW ALL SCOREHERO RULES, DO I REALLY HAVE TO LINK IT?
And thanks to RKCR For sending me the code for this to bring back faster. =P
UPDATES:
-Day one exports revealed?
-YOU CAN EXPORT SMASH HITS AND WORLD TOUR...No further details yet, except you'll have to pay, and you can export on the wii to.

General Stuff
-Release date is officially September 1st 2009. 11th in Europe
-Guitar Hero 5's Achievements

-Up to 125 songs allowed in the playlist, similar to WT’s 6, but also saveable.

-The drums will not be sold with GH5 instead will be with band hero.
Info on Exporting
-The small fee for WT Is apparently 3.50$, no word on SH yet.
-You can export SH and World Tour
-All DLC from WT aside from six songs will work (Most likely just the hendrix stuff packs won't work)
-Wii, PS3, and 360 can export to HD's...For a small fee (Unknown price)
-Not all songs will export on day one.
-You CAN'T Just rent it and export. You have to use the back of the manual THEN Pay a small fee (The unique 20 digit code on there)
-We'll be getting more info on this soon (IE If you can just rent it and export, or what will not export, or the fee...and so on)
-Expert+ And ALL Other features will be added to all charts transferred onto GH5. (Basically they will all work as If you bought them for GH5 DLC/If they were on GH5's list. NOTHING ELSE NEW HERE)
-Wii owners pick and choose songs they want onto GH5. 360 and PS3 users are forced to DL It all, but don't fret. 360/PS3 users can delete songs to!

-You only need the manual code to export
Pro-Face Off Modes (Well, new ones)
-Profaceoff - Duh
-Momentum - All players start at medium difficulty. Miss notes and your difficulty decreases. Hit notes in a streak and your difficulty increases. The highest score wins.
-Streakers - Keep your streak up. Before your multiplier changes, you'll get that number of points. Remember, star power doubles your multiplier. Get the most points to win.
-Do or Die - Miss a note, get a strike. Three strikes and you're out until the next section. Get a point for each section you survive. Get the most points to win. Star Power will remove strikes and make players invincible while active.
-Perfectionist - "Try to play perfectly. The players with the highest percentage of notes hit for a section will earn points. Get the most points to win."
-Elimination - Keep your score up. When the timer reaches zero the player with the lowest score will be eliminated. Don't get eliminated.
-Rockfest - Compete against other players during a series of songs. Game rules will change after every song. Players vote on which rules to use. Rockfest includes Pro Faceoff, Momentum, Streakers, Do or Die, Perfectionist, and elimination.
And another new mode:
-Party Play: Drop in- drop out no fail, no score mode, choose difficulty and instrument on the fly (with the whole being able to play any instrument combination things)
Character Info
-Carlos Santana, Shirley Manson, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, and Matt Bellamy are the five playable characters.

-Band Star Power: Each member can use different star power, like RB.
-For Quickplay and career if someone fails, the band can now save him, but only by playing well enough before everyone fails (you can't just turn on star power to save him)
-Party mode has no fail built into it
-In co-op modes Star power will "spill over" if you have 100% and nail a section, the rest of your band mates get a small chunk of SP (I really like this)
-HO/PO Chords are in this
-The Bass Pedal Notes have been changed.
-The Vocals Engine now has a "Pie" Like Rock Bands, cept It's a bar.

Stuff to note about The Setlist that isn't songs:
-This game offers 85 Different Bands (No notice on whether some bands will have multiple songs or not)
-30 Of these bands will be COMPLETELY New to the rhythm game genre as a whole. (VERY Vague on what it means)
-25% Of the setlist is composed of songs from the last 18 months
-50% Of the setlist is composed of songs from the last Decade.
-To clear the artist mess up: Tom Petty and Tom Petty
& The Heartbreakers both are in, and since It's technically the same
band, it falls under one artist. It's speculated that we'll probably get another nirvana song for the 85th song.

I'm really amped to see what the songs are now, for obvious reasons. There are very few filler bands this time. And what is considered filler, as far as my research can tell, is going for a classic rock sound and I aprove of that.

I'm really interested to see what Gorillaz song they are going to use as most of their music (I think) is more hip hop/rap-based. But any song would probably be incredible on vocals

A lot of their music is rock. I'd say most of their first album is rock-oriented (but with some clear hip-hop production techniques. But still rock. Dan The Automator is a genius). The rap/hip hop songs by this band are the ones with guest appearances by rappers. Like the song Clint Eastwood with Del. |

This, I was surprised by Rock Band 2's September release as well last year @_@
I had to come up with the money pretty fast. I guess it won't hurt to start saving up. |
