I noticed that in vocals they added the Rock Band style pie in the form of a bar which is in my opinion utterly useless. What do you need to know how much of the phrase you hit for, it's not going to change how well you do on the phrase, I wasn't struggling in any of the other games without it. Anyway, If freeforms are gone I hope they've come up with a way of getting unique scores because I don't think I could stand playing if it turned out that 30 people had joint first place on a song. Also I hope they haven't made the engine more lenient, Rock Band is far too forgiving and it would ruin the challenge. Thanks for the info, I'm still excited for this game. _________________

Did you get to play any of the Jimi Hendrix or Tool songs (from WT), and if you did, does Jimi make an appearance, and is the band present while playing the latter band's songs?
EDIT: And two, I was aware of GHWT being exportable to GH5, but you make it sound like there were songs from more games on the consoles. Has that been announced? _________________

Unfortunately, we weren't aware of the whole "MOST WT songs exportable" thing prior to going so we didn't keep a keen eye out for which songs weren't there. We didn't play any of the hendrix or Tool songs, though I doubt Jimi makes an appearance in GH5.
Also, here is some info on the new GHTunes.

If you're allowed to, what exportable tracks do you remember being on there? (That goes for everyone else to) _________________

I didnt see any obvious SH songs in the list at the station that had DLC (just GH5, GHWT, DLC). I didnt even know SH was exportable until i got home from the trip and read the IGN article about it (other than 'franchise compatibility' they were pretty vague about the deets at the actual event). The stations we played obv werent necessarily comprehensive (its an 'evolving' list anyways), so it would be pointless to try and think about what songs were/werent in there.
Everythign from career was locked, so we were unable to play with any of the real celebrities in the game, whether announced or rumored. _________________

I have mixed feelings - I agree that 30-way ties are annoying, but so are your h4x scores _________________

Frankie played the guitar part and Barfo and I were too wrapped up in drums to pay much attention to it. The Johnny Cash cover band was playing when we played this song so we really didn't even get to hear it very well.
I'm sure Frankie can comment as to how fun it is. He might also tell the "Sweet Hat" story. |
Dueling Banjo's is absolutely frigging awesome to play. However, either I am a lot better than I used to be or the chart isn't all that difficult. After we were done playing, one of the spectators rolled up to me and boasted at how awesome I was. I recall my sightread being somewhere in the high 90%'s, perhaps 96% or so. It was an absolute blast to play and I imagine everyone will really, really enjoy it.
HEY SWEETHAT:
After the event, we (Barfo, Phr34k, Carrot, Wedge, Kevin [NikkiLove from the GH Forums] and myself) were sitting in the lobby at the hotel trying to figure out where the hell Jordan was and whether or not we were gonna go hit the town. A few of us are a little buzzed/wasted from the event, specifically me, Kevin and Phr34k.
Hottie waitress passes by. I suddenly become thirsty so I lean in the waitress' direction and yell, "HEY SWEETHAT, you got any Bud Light back there?" She says, "no, but we do have (I think she said Amstel) Light." I ask how much and she says something like, $9. I go, "That's for like, a 2 liter right?"
She gives me the FU face and walks away. Everyone laughs at me for being a lunatic.
I sit back and smile for being awesome.
Ask me anything else you want guys I'll answer the best to my ability.
I'd also like to note that I attempted another double FC of a song on Beginner and consuming something, but I failed. Halfway through playing Livin' On A Prayer I decided to FC TWO Bud Lights instead of just one, and I screwed on the handoff from Phr34k. This video will be on my YouTube channel very soon.
ALSO, on one setup I saw an absolute retarded amount of WT songs + DLC. There was well over 120 songs on this particular machine. However, I did not notice any Smash Hits songs nor Tool songs. I was expecting this but, I did look out for it along with other machines we played on. I did manage to nearly FC Dez Moines on the GH5 engine, something that made me very moist (which doesn't happen often unless DevilMayAsian is around). _________________

What about the ticks? If you hit a note late, do the sustain also end late, like in WT/M/SH? _________________

Things I want for the new GHMix:
-Acoustic Guitar as well as Electric guitar
-Different tunings
-Time limit extended to at least 5 minutes, 3 minutes just isn't enough.
-Chords playable in Lead tracks, that was really annoying in the old GHMix.
-Effects such as Wah-Wah and guitar noises like harmonics and pick scrapes, these should be able to be assigned to any fret or chord that the author chooses
-practice mode for tracks downloaded on GHTunes _________________

The reason Spirit of the radio is after Scatterbrain (Both presumably lvl 10) in the guitar intensity setlist is probably just because of alphabetical order.
Like this :
tier 7 | A-Z
tier 8 | A-Z
tier 9 | A-Z
tier 10|A-Z |

Brilliant. The other thing I would have liked was the hammer-on arpeggiated chords ( I think thats what they are) like the ones in Santeria. Hopefullly this will be available along with the new hammer-on chords.
I hope the sounds really are a lot better; I would have spent a lot more time in the music studio if it weren't so bad. _________________

How was The Spirit of Radio? Were the riffs crazy? Did it have a kickass solo near the end like in the studio version? Does it have an epic crowd singalong? That's the Rush song everyone and their grandma wants in Rock Band nowadays, so i'm sure you'll have something to say about it here. _________________

Awesome, yes, yes, yes! I probably played this about 9001 times. Spirit of Radio is by far my most favorite song of all time. _________________
