I love EBA, its just ridiculously hard.

This is what I told my friend who let me borrow it. He said that I'd never get better at it but I promised that I would beat the game in a weeks time. So not only did I beat it, I beat Hard ROCK! with an S on almost every song. That damned Canned Heat...I never could get the beat right!

Am I the only one here who never played EBA, but still want to have a taste of it?

Hey, despite the fact there are *puke* Avril Lavigne and *puke again* Ashlee Simpson, the whole nonsense background thematics and DS-style playability of the game got me interested; so much so, I'm even hoping they'll port Ouendan 2. And I even have an idea for the setlist (without the extra US stages, that I know there were in the first EBA):

-> Van Halen - "Jump"
-> Bon Jovi - "You Give Love a Bad Name"
-> Billy Joel - "Uptown Girl"
-> Kenny Loggins - "Footloose"
-> Oingo Boingo - "Just Another Day"
-> The Outfield - "Your Love"
-> Billy Idol - "Rebel Yell"
-> Pretenders - "Middle of the Road"
-> Roxette - "Joyride"
-> Simply Red - "Something Got Me Started"
-> Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Around the World"
-> Cyndi Lauper - "Time After Time" (for the soft music stage)
-> Beastie Boys - "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn"
-> Extreme - "Get the Funk Out" (if Nintendo lets it slip through, you know)
-> New Order - "Bizarre Love Triangle" (for the first part of the final stage)
-> Europe - "The Final Countdown" (for the second part of the final stage)
-> Michael Jackson - "Beat It" (for the first bonus)
-> a-ha - "You Are the One" (for the second bonus)
-> James Brown - "Sex Machine" (for the third bonus - again, if Nintendo lets it through, yada-yada)

The best part of EBA is that it doesn't allow you to consider limiting yourself to a single music genre when playing or imagining what you could or would like to play. Heh. ^^

Hardware Store by Weird Al needs to be a bonus song in EBA >_<

It would be the first TRUE challenge for an EBA chart as far as I know lmao

I think "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley would be an excellent addition to Elite Beat Agents. Just think about it for a minute.

Anyway, I got EBA a little while ago and was stuck on JJF on Hard Rock for a few days, but I finally got it. I was sure that I was going to break my DS after a while, from the amount of abuse I was dealing it after each fail. Nintendo sure knows how to make durable hardware.

I just unlocked the final bonus song a few days ago, and have about 6 million points to go to get the next rank. That's crazy.

Furthermore, is it just me or is that song by Queen, "Born to Love You" or something, like, broken? I can never get the rhythm. I mean, Canned Heat I can understand, because even though I may not get a very good score, I can tell that it's always following something, either the lyrics or the beat. But that Queen song confuses me every time.

I was Born to Love You is just really fucking weird, but once you learn exactly how off some of the beats are it's not so bad.

Hardest song in the game IMO is Survivor.

JJF and Without a Fight on Sweatin' are uber-difficult, but JJF is near-impossible unless you get it exact, which is very frustrating. I can be perfect but if I make one single mistake before the spin section, I seem to be completely fucked.

EDIT: Finally beat it after about 25 attempts, was in the "!" section of the Elite-O-Meter, though.

EBA is awesome, I haven't played it in months now, but back when I was amazing at it I would play JJF on hard as a warmup and then try to improve my scores on super hard, good times can't wait for a sequel.

Did anyone notice how this game won The Best Of the Best in the DS Category in the new issue of Nintendo Power?

People still read Nintendo Power, right?

So I sent in my DS to Nintendo for repairs about a week ago. The touch screen was not calibrating correctly. I got in the mail recently, and wow, was that thing holding me back. Over the past few days that I've had the game, I skyrocketed my score enough to now be a Lovin' Machine. I mean, I freaking FC'd JJF on Hard Rock. FC! I was struggling with it before I sent it in! Furthermore, I've S-ranked all but one song on Sweatin' - Survivor. Most of them are also FCs. I feel superhuman.
