I haven't played GH in 2 years and I was beginning to miss it. Unfortunately I sold every video game console and GH game I had to be a real guitar. Now I miss playing GH and played at a friends house a few days ago... And my skill level is exactly the same it was 2 years ago
Anyone else ever have this experience? _________________

not *exactly* the same, but yeah. i had to take a 6-8 month break a while back. my first song back- free bird gh2x. 5 stars, which was once a wtf score for me.
though my fretting wrist hurt like hell from not using whatever muscle that is for all that time. _________________

Sounds harsh :P
In all seriousness, I almost feel like I play better when i take extended breaks. It's weird

If I don't play GH/RB for awhile and come back to it, I seem to do pretty well with everything besides keeping up with some of the faster alt. strumming sections. _________________

I took basically a year and a half off of playing guitar while I worked on my drum and vox abilities and have to agree. While I wasn't quite as good as I originally was I could still hit most of what I used to. Not too long after I was better at alt-strumming then ever before and am playing just as good. |

Jordan solo B tapping. I did it soooooooo much back in the day, it takes me like...5 or 6 tries before I randomly can FC it again, even if I haven't seen the chart in over a year. _________________

Hahah wow, I just like took a two year break and was thinking this EXACT thing!
How I can just like completely stop, and then come back and mindlessly go through TTFAF and remember myself playing the solos so long ago lol. _________________

I'm the opposite.
I'll stop playing for a week and fail out on songs I would normally 5*. It takes me only about a half hour to get back to normal, but I SUCK for the first few runs. |

I find this is absolutely true for guitar, but it's the opposite for drums. If I don't play drums on GH/RB for more than a week and then I try it again it takes be at least a couple hours to even get used to the positioning of the drum pads _________________

I hadn't played GH for about a year when my friend Kris invited me over. I saw the game and really wanted to play. Ha he saw how good i was when i FCed Rock you like a hurricane (piece a cake for me) and asked me, as any uneducated player asks, to play TTFAF and see if i could beast it...
His mouth didn't close for many minutes after I FCed all non-solo type riffs and barely broke 700K. For reference; Anyone who has ever checked my scores knows i top out in the mid 700Ks.. this was after a year and i was glad to know i didn't suck _________________

Not quite, but after stopping for a few months. I come back and it's not a lot harder. Taking a break might make my fingers slower, but playing guitar helps prevent that. _________________

Initially coming back from a 6 month break I was terrible, but now I'm even better than I was before I took that break so I considered it a fair compromise. Then again, it did take me about a week to get back into the swing of things lol. _________________
