The backs of the DVD cases to Guitar Hero II and Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s both have the Dolby Pro Logic II logo on them. How do you achieve Dolby Surround while playing the games? I looked in the Options screen, and the only setting I see that can be changed, (aside from the volume sliders,) is the Stereo Sound checkbox. I don't see any option for turning on Dolby Pro Logic II anywhere.
I plugged my optical audio cable from my Playstation 2 to my 5.1 receiver, but even when I do that, the receiver still only detects a stereo signal. I can change the settings on my receiver to split it to 5.1 by pushing my PL II Mode button. Is that all I have to do in order to achieve true surround sound?
I honestly can't tell whether or not I'm overthinking this. Its just that, in the previous games I'd play that support Pro Logic II, (like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the Nintendo Gamecube,) the options screens actually have a separate selectable radio button for Dolby Pro Logic II, along with from the radio buttons for stereo and mono. |
