According to a brief article on 1up.com, quoted from Eurogamer, by mid 2007 Red Octane plans to release five or six more GH titles. I don't know if they're including the PAL release in that list, but it does include GH2 (with 40+ new songs) and inferences of genre specific titles for metal, country, etc.
Groovy! |

Amen to that.
It's interesting that GH has a song by Megadeth, but no Metallica. I'm also suprised to not see any AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Joe Satriani, etc. It would be cool if they could get some in the next version. _________________

I know a lot of people like to see a lot of metal songs on there, but in my opinion, i really would like to see a Blues version of Guitar Hero. get some more Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, etc, etc, etc. or hell, even a funk with some Geroge Clinton, Morris Day and The Time, and things like that |

Country genre would be interesting too... I'm not a fan but playing some country songs might be fun. _________________

i don't think a country version would be made because the demographic for it is just too small and it would end up bieng a little easy for the really good players, cuz in reality country songs are some of the easiest to play.
I think that a punk rock version would be cool as well as my prior ones. It seems fitting for the style of what guitar hero is. And it would always be nice to see some more ramones, maybe some Clash, i know they would never get the Sex Pistols, but it would be nice. |

Metal would be awesome, but the difficulty level of the songs might turn some people away _________________

New GameInformer has an article included hinting at a future next-gen title along with the ability in GH2 to play lead guitar, rhythm guitar or bass. If the latter part is true, the possibilities for scorehero's expansion are multifold. _________________

Country is one of the genres confirmed to be in progress according to the May OPM.
Lots of music game stuff in this edition of OPM, by the way. A few articles, two reviews and 5 demos on the DVD - Gitaroo Man, Rez, Freq, Amp and MTV Music Generator 3. _________________

hey, it don't phase me in the least that country is one of them....i'll still buy it. What i think should be the versions, ranked on the sheer awesomeness (imo of course):
Punk
Blues
Metal (Thrash and Speed Metal only, none of this death and hate metal crap)
Classic Rock (Layla is a must)
Modern Rock
Country (only because it's already known)
Does anyone think an acoustic version would work.... |

My three most wanted in order:
Blues - More Stevie Ray Vaughan? YES PLEASE!
Classic Rock - with the right licenses, this one will be fucking amazing.
Classical/Acoustic - I think there would be a lot of potential for this... it might seem a bit odd to some, but there is some pretty damn intense classical guitar music out there. _________________
